Baccarat 'The Game' Toro

Baccarat cigar 1
Baccarat 'The Game' Toro by Camacho. 6x50. Good build with smooth veins and ends. Light brown wrap. Cut and lit well. Easy draw pre- and post-flame. First half tastes sweet, likely from the treated crown. Nice mild leaf, sweet herbal tones, light wood. Second half is nutty, round, mild botanical, sweet herb finish with each exhale. Ash is marbled throughout with medium and dark gray striping, holding well at two inches, dropping just over that. Burn was even across with only a couple of small turns.

This is an excellent mild smoke, a great value cigar that has made a name for itself. With its mild tobacco flavor and sweet taste under each puff, this is a perfect session everyday smoke. The aroma alone is pleasing enough to make the session a good one.

I've been enjoying cigars for 24 years, most of them in cigar lounges, cafe patios, etc., and I can tell you that I received more compliments on this cigar's aroma than any other I've smoked in public. I've been wanting to try this for years but was always put off by the fact that it's often included in bargain bundles. Foolish me. No time for snobbery when such quality sticks await. Another note is that this is the first cigar that I chose for two consecutive sessions, just a couple of days apart. Grab a couple of these sticks, or perhaps a box. Very well recommended.

From the company:

"Baccarat is the name, and value is the game. America’s #1 Selling Premium Cigar. Baccarat 'The Game' is the highest quality cigar available in its field and price range, making it a staple with mild body smokers nationwide. This cigar boasts a Honduran-grown Connecticut wrapper with a sweetened tip that is perfect for the beginning smoker. The quality and price of Baccarat cigars cannot be beat and are the reason this brand has stood the tests of time."

"Rolled at the legendary Camacho factory, Baccarat is one of the best-selling cigar brands in the U.S., featuring a sweet tip head and mild mix of Honduran tobaccos. Ranchos Jamastran is nestled in Danli Honduras, an area of the world where ideal soil and climate conditions have made for a tobacco paradise. Some of the finest tobacco in the world has called this region home. Ranchos Jamastran is well-known for its flavorful tobacco that is responsible for such lines as Camacho and La Fontana. Baccarat has been one of the nation's best-selling brands, and is a staple of tradition in cigars. While this cigar is unlike almost any cigar found today, it more closely resembles an older tradition of cigar making. This tradition is the use of sweet gum to finish the cap on a cigar. Such a process was very famous during the first half of the 20th century. The addition of sweetness takes cigar flavor to a whole new level as the toasty aroma from the cigar takes over the palate, and the sweetness from the wrapper finishes on your lips. Smokers who prefer a milder cigar with a sweet and quick finish have made Baccarat an everyday favorite. The sweet tip takes the strong edge off the aroma that most smokers find when they first light a cigar, and the sweetness then continues more and more subtly throughout the rest of the cigar. The Baccarat is mild, smooth, and satisfying."

I enjoyed Baccarat two sessions in a row. The first was in the evening at Peeve's Pub, with a nice pint of barleywine. A couple of days later, I had it again during the day, with a mug of Chai in the Tower District.
