Dust Bowl 'The Great Impression' Stock Ale

Dust Bowl Stock Ale 1
Dust Bowl Brewing 'The Great Impression' Stock Ale. 11.4% abv. 43 IBU. Black color. Thick bubbly beige head gradually falls to a reliable thick ring. Nose of roasted malt, bitter dark fruit, background hops. Front taste of roasted grain, bittersweet chocolate, faint earthy hops. Aftertaste of dark chocolate, prunes, sweet malt. Big body. Mouthfeel is hot, alcoholic, thick.

This is an outstanding beer, one that I've had the pleasure of enjoying on tap, growler, and bottles, and the flavor is memorable and instant each time. Seek it out if you tend to like strong beers with roasted, bitter flavor profiles that demand your attention. Highly recommended.

From the brewery:

"Winter seasonal. Stock ales are brewed at a higher gravity to hold up to extended aging. British hops take a back seat in this ale and provide subtle hop notes and just enough bitterness to support a malt showcase. While fresh, the beer presents with balancing bitterness, but is still dominated by the malt character. Over time, the bitterness subsides and new flavors are created during the aging process."
